Starting with a high-pressure rhythmic berimbau (a string and gourd instrument that directs Brazilian martial artists), Night Chase is an intense, percussion-driven score that could easily accompany the chase scene of an action flick. Imagine Jason Bourne running through the streets of a city at night, trying desperately to outwit his assassins.
I was given some recordings of a berimbau recently and wanted to try it out. This doesn’t really show off the berimbau much, so look out for more of this and other new instruments in the future!
